I don't think that's the way this should work at all. If there's to be any useful common frame of reference, government policy statements should reference publicly accessible data sources. The 9% > 2% promise - which is on the record - corresponds to exactly zero official Statistics Canada data sets that I've found. And I'm quite familiar with the agency's reporting resources. I also double checked using third-party tools. Sure, the Liberal Party may have their own private analytics tucked away somewhere - which I'd appreciate anyone pointing me to - but since they haven't felt it necessary to share their data with the rest of us, that announcement counts as classic GIGO.
Having a gilded career of appearing to manage the transition of fiat currencies consistently towards their intrinsic value while making it sound like something else would tend to perfecting the art of verbal obfuscation.

Then say that. I want accountability from all levels of government whether Liberal, Conservative or any party in power. Obfuscation is not okay.
