I agree, Sir, that I cannot fault the government for trying. Obviously, however, trying is not succeeding.

How one becomes noticed is problematic in this world when being noticed is often a result of doing something that turns out to be negative, awful or similar.

Perhaps, just perhaps, governments should concentrate on announcing programs in English (well, and French) that is understandable, relatively free of jargon and not hyper self-promoting. People might actually pay attention to those announcements. You know, "truth in advertising," a truly novel concept in government communications.

And the information we do receive from the government is quite often incorrect or just an outright lie. There is a very good reason that people have tuned out the legacy media.

Kind of ties in with Justin Trudeau stopping at the top of the stairs and waving at the empty tarmac every time he heads off on the government jet. He’s sending a message, but nobody is there to receive it.

It seems that we no longer receive much information, other than through the PMO, or filtered through the PMO. That's understandable if we no longer have accountable cabinet government, but rather elected dictatorships, mediated by unelected functionaries.

Sir, I respectfully, (kinda) disagree.

I suggest that we no longer receive information. Period. Never mind that it all comes through the PMO.

I would add that the self-promoting nature and, dare I say, actual lies makes the concept of "information" coming from the federal government an oxymoron.

I have no problem, zero, with the government putting out announcements, etc. The government should do that; in fact, I believe they should do more of it. But it should actually be INFORMATION, not self promoting bumph that is full of jargon and is so self-congratulatory that no one can take it seriously.

Further, ongoing updates should be released that provide information about program successes and, very particularly, lack of success.

I know, a utopian dream that will never occur under any government. Particularly the present group in Ottawa.

Given that my expectations of this regime is that all news is essentially bad news, I'm content to hear about the next spurt of endless growth of leviathan in swell and reach - online and from truly non government NGOs such as the Fraser Institute. Bankrupt government's targeted audience tends to be the increasingly ovine electorate in search of the next source of "free stuff". The slowly (at first) decline of western civilization can be a depressing fixation.
