The CBC class (left leaning Boomers) is driving support for the Carney Liberals thus the only reason I see to increase the CBC’s funding. As a punishment to myself I watch David Cochrane’s show from time to time and it is painful. Kate Harrison is great as a Conservative pundit but whatever she says just seems to be dismissed out of hand. Nothing is going to change any time soon.
Maybe the CBC could be recognized for what it is, the communications arm of the Liberal Party, and, as such, be cut loose from general tax payer funding and have its operations entirely funded by the Liberal Party and its supporters.
The use of the "tactic" of "terrorism" as a surrogate for the actual event which is Islamic Jihad is itself, a form of moral cowardice of those afraid of offending Muslims. That the CBC would go one step further is more evidence of the greater leftist hegemon of which it is integral. The coincidence of western nations all approaching Tytler's end-stage of democracy has in Canada's case resulted in a hegemonic complex that I refer to as the LPC/CCP/NDP/UN/WEF/CBC+/FN/NGO/Academia criminal enterprise and governing complex that now includes strategic voting. The CBC is easy to ignore as a viewer but for the declining numbers of us preferring a state more classically liberal, there seems no place to run or hide. Fascism in now endemic. Alberta's independence vote reflects one last attempt at rebooting that unfortunately due to urban and demographic fealty for the hegemon, will very likely fail.
The BBC imposes a license fee on people who own TVs. It's not technically a tax and anyone has the right to opt-out by not having a TV. Unfortunately, opting out of government spending we don't agree with isn't possible in Canada.
